Jointly organised with CSETD IEM, YTL Cement, CDL Academy and Monash Malaysia.
SYNOPSIS
This factory visit offers a valuable opportunity to explore the complete manufacturing process of precast concrete components at Eastern Pretech, one of Malaysia's leading precast concrete manufacturers. As Industrialised Building System (IBS) adoption continues to grow, precast construction plays a significant role in improving construction quality, productivity, safety, and project delivery across the industry.
Participants will gain firsthand exposure to the production of various precast elements, including hollowcore slabs, double-tee slabs, beams, columns, wall panels, staircases, and other structural components. The visit will cover the entire production cycle, from mould preparation, reinforcement and prestressing works, concrete casting, curing, demoulding, finishing, quality inspection, storage, and delivery to project sites.
In addition, attendees will learn how quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) systems are implemented throughout the manufacturing process to ensure compliance with project specifications and relevant British Standards (BS) and Eurocodes. The visit will also demonstrate how modern precast manufacturing techniques improve construction efficiency, minimise material wastage, enhance workplace safety, and support sustainable construction practices.
Through this technical visit, participants will develop a better understanding of the integration between structural design, engineering production, and construction execution, while appreciating the important role of precast technology in delivering high-quality, durable, and cost-effective infrastructure and building projects.
