OBJECTIVE
The proposed MITED aims to provide a dedicated platform for members engaged in the fields of advanced manufacturing, industrial engineering, and digital industrial transformation. This includes aligning with national initiatives such as Industry4WRD and the New Industrial Master Plan 2030 (NIMP 2030).
The proposed scope of objective for MIETD includes:
- Advance the Engineering Profession - To promote and advance the science, knowledge and professional practice of manufacturing and industrial engineering.
- Strengthen Professional Competency - To enhance the knowledge, skills, ethics and professional competency of IEM members and the wider engineering community.
- Promote Smart, Safe and Sustainable Industry - To advance productivity, innovation, digitalisation, safety and sustainability in manufacturing and industrial operations.
- Connect Members and Strategic Stakeholders - To provide a platform for collaboration and knowledge exchange among IEM members, industry, academia, government and professional organisations.
- Support National and International Development - To contribute engineering expertise to Malaysia’s industrial development and encourage members’ participation in national, ASEAN and international initiatives
Membership
Members of the IEM in any grade may become members of the Manufacturing & Industrial Engineering Technical Division. Membership is effected by registration with the Division and no extra membership fees shall be payable.
