SYNOPSIS   

This seminar, “Powering the Future: Sizing, Control and Monitoring of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS),” explores the fundamentals and practical applications of BESS for commercial and industrial energy management. The session will cover key considerations in BESS sizing, system control, monitoring, and integration with Solar PV and grid electricity. AmSolar Sdn. Bhd. will also introduce eCOS©, an AI-driven energy optimisation platform designed to improve energy efficiency, reduce peak demand, maximise solar utilisation, and minimise electricity costs.

The seminar will also feature Fox ESS, presenting its advanced BESS solutions including the G-MAX series. Topics such as Battery Management Systems (BMS), power conversion, safety, thermal management, peak shaving, load management, and PV-storage integration will be discussed. The session aims to provide participants with practical knowledge and industry insights into the effective design, operation, and intelligent management of BESS.


BIODATA OF SPEAKER

1) MS. NICOL WOO
    Local Business Development Representative, FOX ESS Malaysia

Ms. Nicol Woo holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Finance, specialising in Taxation, followed by a Master’s Degree in Data Science and Business Analytics. She currently serves as a Local Business Development Representative at FOX ESS Malaysia, focusing on Business Development, Strategic Partnerships, Solar Inverter, and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) solutions.

Prior to joining the renewable energy industry, she gained five years of experience in the accounting software industry, developing expertise in accounting systems, data management, and digital solutions. Her multidisciplinary background in Finance, Data Analytics, Technology, and Business Development supports her work in developing partnerships and promoting smart energy solutions in Malaysia.


2) MR. MUHAMMAD DENNIS
    Technical Support Engineer, FOX ESS

Mr. Muhammad Dennis holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP), majoring in Renewable Energy. His academic background provided exposure to solar energy, wind energy, energy efficiency, and hydrogen technology, establishing a strong foundation in sustainable energy systems.

As a Technical Support Engineer at FOX ESS, he specialises in Solar PV Systems, Hybrid Inverters, and BESS. His role covers system design, technical consultation, configuration, commissioning, troubleshooting, and pre-sales solution engineering for residential, commercial, and industrial applications, with a current focus on Solar PV, BESS, Energy Management, and EV Charging.


3) MR. CHIA JUN SHEN
    Chief Technology Officer, TranXenergy Sdn. Bhd.

Mr. Chia Jun Shen holds a First Class Honours degree in Robotics and Mechatronics Engineering from Monash University Malaysia (2022) and was the recipient of the Best Final Year Project Award. He is a technology leader specialising in Artificial Intelligence, Energy Optimisation, Energy Management Systems, and Digital Energy Solutions.

As CTO of TranXenergy Sdn. Bhd., he leads the development and commercialisation of advanced energy technologies, including the award-winning Energy Cost Control Optimisation System (eCOS©). He has also been involved in collaborative research with Monash University Malaysia and PETRONAS Research focusing on blockchain-based energy trading and cloud energy storage solutions.


4) MR. JIA HENG LEE
    Computer Scientist, AMSOLAR Sdn. Bhd.

Mr. Jia Heng Lee holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science (Cyber Security) from Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU). As a Computer Scientist at AMSOLAR Sdn. Bhd., he specialises in Software Development, Internet of Things (IoT), Cybersecurity, and Energy Monitoring Systems.

He is one of the developers of the Management Reporting System (MRS), an integrated platform for collecting, monitoring, and visualising energy data from connected devices and systems. His work focuses on software development, IoT integration, data visualisation, and the development of smart energy monitoring solutions.
