SYNOPSIS
This programme provides an understanding of cybersecurity resilience, the evolving cyber threat landscape, and the importance of adopting proactive security measures in today’s increasingly digital environment. It highlights common cyber risks such as phishing, ransomware, data breaches, identity theft, and social engineering attacks that can impact individuals, businesses, and professional organizations. The talk also provides practical guidance on improving cyber resilience, protecting digital assets, and promoting a safer digital ecosystem among IEM members.
The objectives of the talk are:
i. To provide participants with an understanding of the current cybersecurity threat landscape, common cyber risks, and emerging digital threats. ii. To enhance resilience on best practices and preventive measures to safeguard personal, professional, and organizational digital assets. iii. To equip participants with practical knowledge on building cyber resilience, improving digital security hygiene, and responding effectively to cybersecurity incidents.
BIODATA OF SPEAKER
Bala Murgan graduated from University Technology Malaysia with Bachelor of Telecommunication Engineering year 2002 (Hons) and having more than 25 years of experience in the Telco and Cybersecurity space.
Bala is a cybersecurity and digital business professional with extensive experience in developing strategic partnerships and cybersecurity solutions across the Asia Pacific region. He currently leads B2B2C partnership initiatives at Kaspersky, focusing on enabling organizations, telcos, financial institutions, insurance providers, and government entities to enhance digital trust and cybersecurity adoption through innovative partnership models.
Bala plays a key role in driving cybersecurity resilience and digital protection initiatives by connecting technology providers, industry partners, and end users. His engagements across the APAC region focus on promoting cybersecurity resilience, mobile security, consumer cyber protection, and the adoption of security solutions to address evolving cyber threats in the digital ecosystem.
