SYNOPSIS

This half-day seminar explores the critical role of heat rejection in achieving efficient, reliable, and sustainable cooling systems, with a particular focus on data centres and other high performance facilities. The programme begins with an introduction to BAC and its cooling technologies, followed by an overview of heat rejection principles and their applications across data centres, comfort cooling, semiconductor facilities, district cooling plants, and power generation.

The seminar then moves into the integration of heat rejection within data centre cooling systems, examining how cooling-system selection and performance can influence both peak and annualised Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) and Water Usage Effectiveness (WUE). Participants will gain insights into practical approaches for evaluating cooling performance, improving energy and water efficiency, and developing optimised solutions for mission-critical environments.

Drawing on extensive industry and engineering experience, the speakers will share technical perspectives on cooling tower design, application management, performance evaluation, dynamic cooling simulations, air and liquid cooling, and sustainability considerations. The session will conclude with an interactive Q&A, providing participants with an opportunity to discuss challenges and applications relevant to their projects. It is designed to support engineers, consultants, facility professionals, and practitioners seeking knowledge for future ready cooling system design and operation.
