SYNOPSIS
This presentation highlights Malaysia’s efforts to advance sustainable and low-carbon mobility through initiatives such as eco-driving, green logistics, electric vehicle adoption, micro mobility, and improved public transport connectivity. The session examine current transportation challenges, greenhouse gas emissions, fuel efficiency, and urban mobility issues while proposing practical solutions and policy recommendations. Key focus areas include reducing carbon emissions, improving road safety, enhancing first-last mile connectivity, promoting behavioural change and supporting the transition to cleaner transportation technologies. Collectively, the initiatives support Malaysia’s sustainability agenda and Low Carbon Mobility Blueprint towards creating a greener, safer, and more efficient transport ecosystem for the future.
SPEAKER BIODATA
Ts. Dr. Abdul Hakim Ab. Rahim is a development and project management professional specialising in green transportation, sector decarbonisation, and sustainable mobility. He currently serves as Manager for Advisory & Consultancy at the Malaysia Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation (MGTC), where he leads national initiatives under the Low Carbon Mobility Blueprint, including electric vehicle infrastructure, hydrogen mobility, and low-carbon transport strategies. He is also the National Project Manager for a GEF–UNIDO funded project on climate-smart transport, coordinating multi-stakeholder collaboration, international donor reporting, and capacity-building activities. Dr. Hakim holds a PhD in Engineering and brings a strong technical foundation combined with hands-on experience
