INTRODUCTION
Transport Conference Malaysia 2026 (TRANSCON 2026) is the very first transport conference organized by HTETD IEM. TRANSCON 2026 is a platform that brings together influential speakers with diverse backgrounds in Transport discipline to discuss the current and emerging practice and technology across different spectrums in the field. The one-day event focuses on main theme of “Beyond Boundaries: The Next Era of Smart and Connected Transport”. The conference may explore advancements in autonomous vehicles, IoT and AI-driven transportation systems. Furthermore, the conference may focus on cutting-edge technologies, sustainability and the evolution of urban and global mobility. We may seek the collaborate with other organisations and NGO to support the event, such as Malaysia Institute of Road Safety Research (MIROS), Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM), local traffic consultants, and higher learning institutions (IHL).
The anticipated participants of TRANSCON 2026 would be practitioners, traffic and transport consultants, planners, government officers and all professionals involved in transport discipline as well as academicians, researchers and postgraduate students undertaking research on highway and transportation. TRANSCON 2026 is relevant to all sectors across highway and transport fraternity.
KEYNOTE SPEAKERS PROFILE
1) Ir MOHD FAIRUZ BIN MUHAMAD
Ir. Mohd Fairuz Bin Muhamad is the Division Undersecretary of the Road Planning Division at the Ministry of Works (KKR) and serves as the Honorary Secretary General of ITS Malaysia. With 32 years of experience in engineering and strategic planning, he leads national efforts in coordinating smart land transport and road development. He oversees the implementation of the Malaysian ITS Roadmap 2030 and has represented the Ministry at global ITS congresses
2) DATO’ SRI Ir HJ ISMAIL BIN MD SALLEH
Dato' Sri Ir. Hj. Ismail Bin Md. Salleh served as the Director General of the Malaysian Highway Authority (MHA) until 2018, accumulating over 36 years of experience in highway planning and construction. He currently serves as the President of the Intelligent Transport System Association of Malaysia. He is a registered Professional Engineer with the Board of Engineers Malaysia, a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers Malaysia, and holds a Master’s in Highway Engineering from the University of Strathclyde, UK
3) DATUK Ir ZAKARIA AHMAD ZABIDI
Datuk Ir. Zakaria Ahmad Zabidi is the Chief Operating Officer of PLUS Berhad and PLUS Malaysia Berhad. He is responsible for designing business strategies, improving the work culture, overseeing company operations, highway maintenance, major projects implementation, managing investments, and partnerships. He is also a board member of various associated companies and holds key positions in professional associations, including Chairman of Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation (CIHT) Malaysian Branch, Council Member of the Road Engineering Association of Malaysia (REAM) and Council Member of the Intelligent Transport System Association of Malaysia (ITSM).
4) ASSOC. PROF. Ir SITI ZAHARAH BINTI ISHAK
Assoc. Prof. Ir. Ts. Dr. Siti Zaharah Ishak is a Director-General of Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research (MIROS) and an Associate Professor at University Technology MARA (UiTM), Shah Alam. Dr. Siti Zaharah is now serving numerous national and international committees related to road safety.Amongst them are the ITSM - 9 Term Council, PIARC, REAAA, REAM, ITS, HTETD IEM. Her areas of expertise are road safety, public transport and transportation system engineering that covers road and rail.
5) DATO’ PROF. Ir AHMAD FARHAN BIN MOHD SADULLAH
Dato’ Prof. Ir. Dr. Ahmad Farhan Mohd Sadullah is presently the Vice Chancellor of Universiti Putra Malaysia(UPM) and Professorin Transport Studies. He is widely regardedas a leading expert in transport mattersin Malaysia. He was the founding member of the Commission Member of the Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD), and was made the Interim Chairman from 2017 until the day SPAD was decommissioned by the government.
He was appointed as the Director General of the Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research (MIROS) between 2008 and 2011, and was critical behind many road safety strategies of the country.
6) DR PRODYUTT DUTT
Dr. Prodyut Dutt has over 40 years of professional experience in transportation, both in Malaysia and internationally. He started his career in Ministry of Works, Malaysia and then served in Ministry of Transport and later in Ministry of Finance. He then served overseas with the Asian Development Bank (ADB), both at its headquarters in Manila and at the ADB office in India. Upon returning to Malaysia, he joined the Suruhanjaya Pengangkutan Awam Darat (SPAD) where he served as Head of Planning, Policy and Research for two years followed by four years as Chief Development Officer of SPAD. After the dissolution of SPAD, he served in Thailand as the ADB International Railway Advisor. Since 2021, he has held the position of Group Chief Operating Officer (Strategy and Development) at Prasarana Malaysia Berhad.
7) Ir GANDHI SUPPIAH
A Chartered Civil Engineer and Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers (UK), Gandhi Suppiah has over 25 years of international experience delivering complex transportation infrastructure and sustainability projects across Malaysia, UK, Australia, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific. Gandhi is recognised for his strategic foresight and commitment to sustainable value creation, guiding clients to plan, design and deliver resilient transport infrastructures. He currently leads MindShift Consultancy expansion across the region, connecting engineering, advisory, and digital innovation. He is ICE’s Country Representative and Chair of ICE Malaysia (2023–2026) and champions carbon literacy, professional excellence, and collaboration across industry, academia, and government to accelerate climate-resilient growth in Southeast Asia.
8) DR ANDI ROSSI A. RAZAK
Dr Andi Rossi is a PhD graduate in Management from Lancaster University Management School with more than 20 years of experience in delivering turnkey and transformation programs across diverse sectors. His professional background spans both industry and consulting, having previously worked with organisations such as PETRONAS, Scomi, and Accenture, where he built his expertise as an SAP Consultant. Currently, he leads the National Regulatory Sandbox (NRS) initiative, successfully delivering 15 programs covering Drone Tech, Advanced Air Mobility (AAM), and Micromobility. His work also supports Malaysia’s Autonomous Vehicle ecosystem development, as the lead Secretariat of the Jawatankuasa Pengujian Kenderaan Berautonomi (JPPKB) under MOT.
