SYNOPSIS
The technical visit to Bukit Jugra Lighthouse aims to provide participants with exposure to the engineering, historical, and operational aspects of lighthouse systems used for maritime navigation. The lighthouse, located on Bukit Jugra overlooking the Straits of Malacca, plays an important role in guiding vessels and ensuring maritime safety.
During the visit, participants will learn about the lighthouse structure, lighting technology, power supply systems, and maintenance practices involved in operating a navigation aid facility. The visit also provides an opportunity to understand the integration of traditional lighthouse design with modern navigation technology. In addition, participants will gain insight into the historical significance of the lighthouse and its contribution to maritime transportation in Malaysia. This technical visit enhances participants’ knowledge in coastal engineering infrastructure, navigation safety systems, and heritage preservation.
