BIODATA OF SPEAKERS
1) Mr. Sabran Bin Samsuri Chief Operating Officer of Inari Technology Sdn Bhd
Mr. Sabran Bin Samsuri was appointed as the Chief Operating Officer of Inari Technology Sdn Bhd on 1 November 2013. He holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Arizona, Tucson, USA. Mr. Sabran began his professional career in 1988 with Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), Penang, where he worked in the process and equipment engineering discipline within the assembly and packaging operations. During his tenure at AMD, he was actively involved in semiconductor assembly manufacturing processes, focusing on equipment optimisation, process improvement, and the development of new packaging technologies. His role later expanded to include new packaging and process development engineering, where he contributed to enhancing manufacturing efficiency, reliability, and product quality in high-volume semiconductor production environments.
In 1993, he joined Advanced Semiconductor Engineering (M) Sdn Bhd (ASEM), Penang, a subsidiary of the global semiconductor leader ASE Group.
Throughout his career at ASEM, Mr. Sabran held a wide range of engineering, operational, and leadership positions, gaining extensive experience in advanced semiconductor packaging technologies, process engineering, manufacturing operations, and technology development. Over the years, he played key roles in driving operational excellence, improving production efficiency, and supporting technology transfer and product ramp-up for major semiconductor customers.
In addition to his technical and operational responsibilities, Mr. Sabran was also involved in technology strategy and business development initiatives, working closely with global customers and internal teams to support new product introduction, advanced packaging capabilities, and strategic growth opportunities. His leadership contributions were instrumental in strengthening operational capabilities and maintaining high standards in manufacturing performance, quality assurance, and customer satisfaction.
Prior to joining Inari Technology Sdn Bhd, he served as the Vice President of Operations (Assembly and Test Operations) at ASEM, where he was responsible for overseeing large-scale semiconductor assembly and test manufacturing operations. In this role, he managed multidisciplinary teams and was accountable for operational performance, including production efficiency, cost management, yield improvement, and delivery commitments, while ensuring alignment with customer requirements and global industry standards.
With more than 35 years of experience in the Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) and Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) industries, Mr. Sabran possesses deep expertise in semiconductor manufacturing operations, advanced packaging technologies, operational leadership, and strategic business development. His professional experience spans technology development, operational management, manufacturing optimisation, and customer engagement, enabling him to effectively lead complex engineering organisations in the highly competitive global semiconductor industry.
As the Chief Operating Officer of Inari Technology Sdn Bhd, Mr. Sabran oversees the company’s operational strategies, manufacturing excellence, and technology initiatives, while continuing to drive sustainable growth, operational efficiency, and strong partnerships with key global semiconductor customers.
2) Ir. Ts. Roger Wong P.Eng., P.Tech., M.I.E.M. Managing Director, Mun Hean (Malaysia) SDN BHD.
Ir. Ts. Roger Wong is a highly distinguished professional engineer with over 24 years of extensive experience in the engineering sector, including two decades in key leadership positions. As the Managing Director of Mun Hean (Malaysia) SDN BHD, he oversees complex operations and provides specialist expertise not limited to Power Quality, Electrical Protection, Lightning Protection, Renewable Energy, Energy Storage Solution and sustainable development.
Roger’s academic foundation includes a B.Eng in E&E Engineering from University of Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) and an M.Eng in Power Engineering from University of Malaya (UM). He embodies the "model engineer" through his commitment to professional accreditation and lifelong learning. He is a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with Practising Certificate (PEPC) registered with the Board of Engineers, Malaysia (BEM), and a Professional Technologist (P.Tech.) with the Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT). Furthermore, he holds prestigious regional recognitions as an ASEAN Chartered Professional Engineer (ACPE) and is listed on the APEC & EMF Registers.
Throughout his career, Roger has navigated diverse roles; from Lead Commissioning Engineer to Director and HR Development Manager; at industry giants such as TNB, ALSTOM, PATHGREEN, and edotco (Axiata Group). This multidisciplinary background, combined with international exposure working in the United Kingdom and the Middle East, gives him a unique perspective on global management cultures and engineering excellence.
In addition to his corporate leadership, Roger is a registered On-Grid and Off-Grid Solar Designer with Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA) and an 33kV Electrical Competent Engineer, Registered Energy Manager and Registered Energy Auditor with the Energy Commission of Malaysia (Suruhanjaya Tenaga). He remains deeply involved in the engineering community through his memberships in IEM, MGBC,MAESCO, MEPA, TEEAM and MPSEA.
As a seasonal speaker, Ir. Ts. Roger Wong is dedicated to mentoring the next generation of engineers.
