SYNOPSIS
The features of the IEM PI 2.0 include:
• Simplified application forms • The technical report will be combined with Training & Experience report for completeness and coherence. • Professional conduct and ethics will only be tested during Oral Interview. • High achievers could be exempted from the technical essay. • Demonstration of evidenced-based (or verifiable) design, site and implementation experience will be on the Training and Experience Report and Interview.
The webinar talk aims to brief potential PI applicants about the new developments in the IEM PI process and documentation.

SPEAKER’S BACKGROUND
1. Ir. Pan Chee Chin
Ir. Pan Chee Chin graduated with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering (Hons.) degree from Universiti Malaya in 2000 and has been active in engineering consultancy works for the past 24 years. He is a Professional Engineer with Practising Certificate (PEPC) and currently a Director with Perunding ZKR Sdn Bhd., a Civil & Structural Consultancy firm which was incorporated in 1994.
He has extensive engineering experience in project master planning and feasibility studies, conceptual to detailed engineering design as well as project management for various types of large scales infrastructural works in roads / highways, development projects and public transportation. His involvement includes earthworks planning, hydrological & hydraulics studies for drains and rivers, water and sewerage works, services relocation and now focus on roads and highways planning, design and implementation.
Ir. Pan is also an active member in both IEM and BEM. He is currently the Chairman of Membership Applications Board (MAB) of IEM, member in Admissions and Practical Training (APT) Standing Committee, PI Development Committee and IEA Agreements Registration & Administration Committee of IEM.
2. Ir. Juares Rizal bin Abd Hamid
Ir. Juares Rizal bin Abd Hamid has held roles and responsibilities of a line and managerial executive engineer, project manager, consultant engineer, business/executive coach, and company director – all while in and through salaried employment (22+ years, PETRONAS Group), and self-employment (24+ years) in the oil, gas, and petrochemical industry. In self-employment, he has been a freelance consultant, an associated principal in Process/Project Management to an engineering design consultancy (MECIP Global Engineers Sdn Bhd), and a Director of a process safety management consultancy (Winmore Engineering Sdn Bhd).
He has been a Corporate Member of the IEM and a registered Professional Engineer since 1985, and has, from 2010, been a member of the IEM's Professional Interview Board. He has served on numerous, and is presently serving on several, work committees of the IEM and the BEM. He is a graduate in Chemical Engineering (Pennsylvania State University,1979) and Industrial Chemistry (UiTM, 1975).
