SYNOPSIS   

Sustainability in Urban Engineering Materials focuses on approaches which can reduce environmental impact, energy utilization, and carbon footprint in the civil engineering field. Innovations covering areas in the concrete and pavement materials ranging from advances in geopolymer concrete, concrete supercapacitor for energy storage, nano-silica from agriculture waste for high performance concrete and reclaimed asphalt pavement utilizing crude palm oil as the rejuvenating agent. These are the current research works undertaken at UTP Center for Smart Structure & Infrastructure Engineering.


BIODATA OF SPEAKER

Mohamed Mubarak bin Abdul Wahab

Mubarak Wahab, PhD, P.E. is currently the Director for Center for Smart Structure & Infrastructure Engineering at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP). He is a researcher-cum- engineer with over 25 years of experience in the civil and structural (C&S) engineering field. Actively involved in the engineering fraternity, with several research and consultancy programs completed and on-going in the field of Materials and Structures (including offshore structures). A keen believer in academia-industry collaboration, works hand in hand with C&S and energy industries players. Active engagement with industry from involvement in competency training programs.
