SYNOPSIS
As industries move towards digitalisation and clean energy, fire safety in data centres, energy storage systems, and EVs is more critical than ever. This webinar brings global experts to share the latest guidelines, technologies, and sustainable solutions.
TOPICS AND BIODATA OF SPEAKERS
1. Fire Safety in Data Centers (By UL) by Mr. Jesu Prakash Anthony
Data centers are vital to modern digital infrastructure but face serious fire risks that threaten uptime and safety. This webinar explores the latest innovations and strategies in fire protection to enhance resilience, compliance, and operational continuity.
Jesu Prakash Anthony is an engineering professional with over 17 years of experience in fire products, public safety, and the TIC industry. As Staff Engineer at UL’s Built Environment Division, he leads engineering teams across ANZ and Southeast Asia, serves as Technical Lead for Fire Suppression in Asia, and oversees the Singapore Product Listing Scheme. A contributor to regional standards and certification initiatives, Jesu combines his mechanical engineering background and management training with strong technical and leadership expertise.
2. Li-Ion Battery Storage & ESS Guidelines (By FM) by Ms. Rusnah Koh
Lithium ion battery introduction, causes Li-ion battery thermal runaway, fire hazard on Liion battery storage and energy storage system. Research based on Li-ion battery fire protection.
Updated installation guide (FM datasheets) for Lithium-ion Battery Warehouse Storage & Energy Storage Systems fire protection
Ms. Rusnah Koh is a Business Development Engineer for Southeast Asia at FM Approvals, an international third-party testing and certification organization focused on property loss prevention. With over 14 years at FM Approvals, she has extensive experience in project management, factory audits, and witnessed testing for various fire protection systems, including fire pumps and clean agent suppression systems.
Before joining FM Approvals, she served as an Application Engineer at Flowserve Pte Ltd in Singapore. Ms. Rusnah holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Chemical Engineering from the University of Queensland, Australia.
3. NTA 8133: Certification for Lithium Fire Extinguisher by Ir. Dr. Andrew Ng
This session highlights the unique challenges of lithium-ion battery fire suppression and introduces the NTA 8133 test protocol — the only current standard for lithium fire extinguishers. A comparison of commercial extinguishers will also be presented with reference to this standard.
Ir. Dr. Andrew Ng is the Chief Technology Officer at Pyrogen, responsible for R&D, engineering design, technology innovation, and intellectual property management. He has led the development of testing protocols aligned with international standards, earning global certifications from SIRIM, BSI, UL, Kiwa, and FM. In 2023, he established Pyro X, a subsidiary specializing in fire suppression technologies for lithium-ion battery fires. Andrew holds a PhD and Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Malaya and Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman, respectively. A Professional Engineer and Chartered Scientist recognized in the EU, UK, APAC, and Malaysia, he has over 15 patents and 45 ISI-indexed publications.
