SYNOPSIS

This one-day course provides a simple explanation to the IEM Form of Contract for Civil Engineering Works (IEM CE 2024) by categorising all clauses into six (6) main categories. Understanding of IEM CE 2024 Conditions of Contract is essential for the contract administrative works during the construction and post construction.

Unwarranted disputes can be avoided with the parties' understanding of their respective duties, rights and obligations expressly stipulated in IEM CE 2024.


BIODATA OF SPEAKER

Ir. Ang Kok Keng is a Malaysian Professional Engineer with over 20 years of experience in the construction industry. He is the Director and Founder of Synergy Building Solutions Sdn Bhd, specializing in project and contractual management, as well as alternative dispute resolution (ADR). Holding a First Class Honours degree in Civil Engineering and a Master’s in Engineering Management, he furthered his expertise with a Diploma in International Arbitration. Ir. Ang is a Fellow of Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (IEM), Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb), Malaysian Institute of Arbitrators (MIArb) and Malaysian Society of Adjudicators. He serves as arbitrator, adjudicator, mediator and expert determiner with various institutions such as IEM, the Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC), Borneo International Centre for Arbitration and Mediation (BICAM), Malaysian Mediation Centre and the Academy of Experts UK. His extensive portfolio includes acting as counsel and expert witness in complex construction disputes.
