SYNOPSIS

This one-day course provides a simple explanation to the IEM Form of Contract for Civil Engineering Works (CE 2011) by categorising all clauses into six (6) main categories. Understanding of CE 2011 Conditions of Contract is essential for the contract administrative works during the construction and post construction.Unwarranted disputes can be avoided with the parties' understanding of their respective duties, rights and obligations expressly stipulated in CE 2011.


BIODATA OF SPEAKER

Ir. Ang Kok Keng is an Engineer with Practising Certificate under the Registration of Engineers Act 1967, an Arbitrator, an Adjudicator, a Mediator and an Expert Determiner with a Degree in Civil Engineering, Master’s degree in Engineering Management and a Diploma in International Arbitration with more than 20 years’ of experience in the Malaysia Construction Industry.

His expertise includes Project Management, Contractual Management and alternative disputes resolution. He regularly acts as counsel in adjudication and arbitration. He also appears as Expert Witness on various construction disputes such as consultancy fee, civil engineering works, delay and defects. In 2023, he was invited as one of the speaker for the AIAC Asia ADR Week.

He is currently a Director of International Group of Arbitrators Bhd (the Malaysia Branch of Chartered Institute of Arbitrators).

He is a Fellow of CIARB & MIARB and member of IEM, MSADJ, SCL Malaysia and TAE (Practising Associate).
