SYNOPSIS

Well Completion Engineering is one of the important disciplines in Upstream Exploration and Production (E&P) phase in the oil and gas industry. Once the hydrocarbon presence in the exploration field is found to be proven via extensive geological and reservoir modelling study, a decision will be made by the stakeholder to develop the field if it is found to be economical viable. Based on the target location given by the geologist, Drilling Engineer will drill and construct the well penetrating the hydrocarbon zone. The next step is to produce the hydrocarbon to surface before it undergo the refining process that met the sales specification. Completion Engineer responsibility is to complete the drilled well to bring it into production mode based on the well design requirement such as production rate, well lifespan, fluid contamination, production strategy etc. The most crucial phase in completion engineering is during Front End & Engineering Design (FEED) where the basis of design is determined followed by concept select and detail engineering covering tubular stress analysis, material selection, production modelling and equipment selection. This stage is then followed by equipment ordering and preparing the equipment installation procedure to complete the well and bring it into production phase safely.

Graduated from UTP in Mechanical Engineering and join PETRONAS as Completion Engineer in 2011 until present. Wide experience in various type of Well Completion Design from the conventional cased and perforation, sand control solution, intelligent completion design and high pressure and high temperature well design. Involved with well completion design selection phase, planning and execution of completion operation including some offshore supervision. Currently serve as Well Completion Technical Assurer at PETRONAS focusing on providing technical review and consultancy as well as conducting Technical Assessment for Well Completion Engineer
