SYNOPSIS

"Subsea engineering involves a diverse range of disciplines and is responsible for the engineering, procurement, construction, installation, commissioning and maintenance of subsea field development. A comprehensive knowledge of various engineering fields is essential for the successful development of these subsea projects. This talk will be focusing on subsea engineering compared to traditional oil and gas development including deep-water application. This is a challenging work for any engineer and being a woman in a male dominated environment is even tougher. Let’s hear how Dr. Jey succeed her way in this area."


BIODATA OF SPEAKER

Dr. Ir. Jeyanthi Ramasamy

Dr. Ir. Jeyanthi Ramasamy, an engineer (petroleum) by profession with a practicing certificate, has worked on various oil and gas projects, delivering projects with massive capital. She has a total of 17 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. She is an oil and gas industry leader with a proven track record. She is armed with a PhD in subsea engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia and a Master of Technology (Petroleum) from Curtin University of Technology, Australia. She is the Subsea Manager at Hibiscus Petroleum Berhad and also serves as an independent non-executive director of Rohas Tecnic Berhad. To galvanize her engineering career, she embarked on legal studies, graduated with a Bachelor of Jurisprudence from the University of Malaya, and recently obtained a certificate of legal practice.
