SYNOPSIS
Three part presentation that mainly focuses on;
• Introduction of BIM as a process with current requirements updates. Sharing the benefits of BIM for the industry, the latest ISO 19650 and local requirements mandates. • Actual challenges faced in implementing BIM in the industry, including but not limited to; skilled manpower shortage, overlapping workflows, resistance from the industry, maturity level of stakeholders, as well as lesson learnt. • Way forward and new opportunities that centres on sustainability and reducing carbon footprints. Exploring new technologies such as Augmented Reality (AR), Artificial Intelligences (AI), and Internet of Things (IoT) to enhance BIM process and execution.
OBJECTIVES
To introduce and apprise BIM theories and application in real world scenario. Discuss room for improvement in execution, areas of strength and short comings. Closing statement on the opportunities that comes with BIM implementation in the industry and what the future holds.
BIODATA OF SPEAKER
Muhammad Imran Bin Roslan Muhammad Imran, a Civil Engineer, has 10 years of experience in the AEC industry, is skilled in Team Leadership with a proven track record in delivering projects within scope and on time. He has been working within the BIM industry for the past 10 years in both contractor and subcontractor environment and has completed a number of successful projects as BIM Coordinator and Senior Project Engineer.
Muhammad Imran is the BIM Global Ventures Sdn Bhd’s (BGV) BIM coordinator, overseeing all the modeler’s productivity with relation to BIM and its application. Muhammad Imran has been with BGV for more than 4 years and he has worked on a large number of projects with varying amounts of complexity, including hospital, shopping mall, hotels building, high-rise office and mixed developments.
