SYNOPSIS

The demand for success in agile projects requires serious attention in addressing its issues and challenges, besides merely implementing suitable agile methods. Literature presents a comprehensive discussion, which does not accurately reflect the crucial challenges confronted by the industries.Through a study, involving 42 industry practitioners, 38 unique issues and challenges were captured and grouped into 4 broad categories of Organisation, People, Process and Technical. These issues and challenges are further mapped into a best practice framework, to act as a guide in the management of agile-hybrid projects. Further, the proposed mitigation methods were compiled, and presented with the framework.


BIODATA OF SPEAKER

Dr. Jay Sithambaram attained a doctorate in Project Management, is a member of PMI with PMP credentials, and a certified trainer, amongst many other qualifications. He has vast industrial experience and knowledge in the area of Project Management, IT Infrastructure, and Operations across many industries, namely Energy, Oil & Gas, Telecommunications,Banking & Finance, Electrical, Civil and Government Administration, possessing in-depth knowledge on Project Management Methodologies and Industry Best Practises, with vast knowledge and experience in both Traditional and Agile methods, championing Hybrid methods for greater project success. He started his career in Maybank, handling IT application scripting and reporting, then moved into Software Development, developing banking applications for Maybank global offshore branches, and other banking institutions. Hethen joined Maxis Communications, holding many positions within the IT department, Regulatory, Product Development andProject Management. Dr. Jay was hand-picked by Shell Global IT,offering him the position of Head of Operations for Asia Pacific.

Having completed 22 years of experience in various industries and roles, Dr. Jay recently moved into Project Management consulting and advisory, setting up PMO’s and conducting corporate training, providing services to key clients in Asia Pacific and the Middle East.
