BIODATA OF SPEAKER

Mr. Yap Ming is the founder and managing director of Whitman Independent Advisors Sdn. Bhd. His personal advisory clients include some of the major owners of public-listed companies (PCLs) on Bursa Malaysia, CEOs of multinational corporations (MNCs) and successful small-and-medium enterprise (SME) companies.

In 2008, inspired by a cold call from a single mother seeking independent financial advise, Mr. Yap decided to adapt his wealth management solutions to fit the needs of every Malaysian. The solution he created for her, is showcased in his book the "Roadmap To Financial Freedom".

In the past, Mr. Yap hosted a regular column in the New Straits Times, Sin Chew Daily and wealth management column for The EDGE. In 2007, Mr. Yap was invited to share his expertise as the recurring guest for Financial Biz Buzz on the radio station, Lite FM.

From April 2010 to August 2011, Mr. Yap shared financial tips and views on NTV7's The Breakfast Show. Currently, once a month, Mr. Yap contributes to a column in the STAR Bizweek on Saturdays called Money and You. When time permits, he also contributes personal finance book reviews for THE STAR newspaper.
