EXHIBITION AND BUSINESS NETWORKING

The Conference of the ASEAN Federation of Engineering Organisations (CAFEO) is now open for registration. The Institution of Engineers, Singapore (IES) is honoured to host CAFEO 2018 in Singapore for its 36th edition.

CAFEO 36 is the ideal gateway to develop business and networks in the ASEAN region. CAFEO 36 will be an event with added significance, as it will coincide with Singapore’s Chairmanship of ASEAN.

IEM with assistance from MATRADE will be organizing an exhibition and also where possible utilize the MDG funds to support the participation of delegates and the exhibition of the booths and if the respond is good we could have a Malaysian Pavilion.  The MATRADE fund that could be utilized is as follows:

a) RM2500 for delegates
b) RM15000 for exhibitors

There are several conditions like registration as MATRADE member  had to be done by the members and submission of claims.  Claims however can only be made after the event (within 40days)

At the same time, IEM is  also working with MATRADE to look at business matching session in CAFEO for our Malaysian delegates. Those interested to do business matching, kindly send in your business interest so that we could circulate this to the other ASEAN Country to see if there are interest from their end before we could arrange the meeting between both parties.

Background Information:

AFEO (The ASEAN Federation of Engineering Organisations) is a non-govermental body, consisting of the engineering institutions and organisations of ASEAN countries with the main objectives of promoting goodwill and mutual understanding, and to establish and develop a ASEAN baseline standard for the engineering profession with the objective of facilitating the mobility of the engineers within the ASEAN countries.
 
CAFEO 36 is the ideal gateway to develop business and networks in the ASEAN region. Hosted by The Institution of Engineers, Singapore (IES), this will be an event with added significance, as it coincides with Singapore’s Chairmanship of ASEAN 2018. In alignment to the Master Plan on ASEAN Connectivity 2025 by ASEAN leaders in September 2016, the conference will convene engineering professionals in ASEAN to exchange knowledge, share ideas and jointly develop solutions to problems through the content-rich conference programme and exhibition under two themes:

• Engineering Rail Connectivity
   – CAFEO 36 will provide a focal point for discussion on pertinent issues and trends
      that are impacting rail engineering in the region and beyond
• Fostering Excellence in Engineering Education
   – CAFEO 36 will facilitate the design and delivery of top-quality educational
      programmes and nurture not just knowledgeable and multi-disciplinary engineers,
      but also deeply-skilled engineers and technicians.
