SYNOPSIS
This talk provides an overview of the importance of testing and maintaining fire safety equipment in high-risk chemical and petrochemical industries. It covers the inspection, testing, and performance verification of active fire protection systems such as firewater networks, hydrants, monitors, foam systems, deluge systems, and others.
Real-life lessons learned and common deficiencies are discussed to emphasize the importance of proactive maintenance, ,regulatory compliance, and ensuring the inspection, reliability and maintenance and testing are been conducted to firefighting equipment at every life cycle.
BIODATA OF SPEAKER
Ts. Dal Raaj Singh Sandhu
Ts. Dal Raaj Singh Sandhu has established a remarkable career spanning over two decades in the field of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) and fire safety. Beginning as an HSE officer in the oil and gas industry, specifically in construction and commissioning, he has gained extensive experience across various sectors, including building construction and petrochemical plants.
Currently serving as the Principal Fire Safety/ER with Petronas Downstream Business, he possesses strong expertise in HSE engineering and fire safety. He is also a technical Fire Risk Assessor with the Institute of Fire Engineering Malaysia and an affiliated member of the Institute of Fire Engineering Malaysia.
Ts. Dal Raaj Singh is an Associate Member of the Institution of Fire Engineers (AIFireE) UK and a Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS) NFPA US, demonstrating internationally recognised competence in fire engineering and fire protection principles.
He also actively contributes to technical knowledge sharing, professional development, and advancement of fire safety practices within the industry.
