Water resilience through nature-based solutions involves utilizing natural ecosystems and processes to sustainably manage water resources. By mimicking natural processes in engineered solutions, such as creating wetlands to filter pollutants, nature-based approaches not only address challenges like flooding, water quality deterioration, and scarcity but also provide additional benefits like biodiversity conservation, climate resilience, and community livelihood improvements. These solutions enhance the resilience of communities and ecosystems to climate impacts, offering a more effective and sustainable alternative to traditional, purely engineered water management strategies.
