BIODATA OF SPEAKER

Naqiuddin Nordin received the B.Eng in Petroleum Engineering from the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Australia in 2018, and M.Phil in Mechanical Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in 2022. Currently, he is pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Malaya (UM) while working full time in the Oil & Gas Industry.

In his professional journey, Naqiuddin has amassed over 5 years of experience in project management, facility operation, and maintenance in the oil and gas sector. His professional journey includes significant roles in product research and development, particularly focusing on non-metallic materials in greenfield and brownfield oil and gas development.

Presently, he is pioneering the application of Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer (GFRP) solutions in the biofuel industry through his doctoral research. His academic excellence was recognized with the UTM Best Postgraduate Student Award in 2022, and he was a finalist for the SPE Outstanding Young Professional Award in 2021. Naqiuddin currently holds a vital position as Assistant Manager at Petron Fuel International, where he continues to drive innovation and efficiency. He also enriches the academic community by serving as an external co-supervisor and industrial speaker at Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) Pasir Gudang.

Naqiuddin is a registered Professional Engineer with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM), a Corporate Member of the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM), a Professional Technologist with the Malaysia Board of Technologists, and a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute.
