SYNOPSIS
Based on the findings of a study from Universiti Putra Malaysia on the increase in the disposal of used tires which is estimated to increase by 5% per year, is one of the factors that cause environmental pollution issues, such as open burning. The use of used tires as submerged reef (tukun) is also said to be pollution to marine life. The idea of adopting CRMB technology to Malaysia that uses crumb rubber from used tires is also the result of K2 Bitumen's collaboration with Jiangsu Technical Institute (JSTI), China.
The objective is to help the road construction and maintenance industry in producing a better pavement lifespan to overcome cracks and rut depth. This presentation will share experiences and testimonials of CRMB products in extending the lifespan of pavements as well as more value for money in road asset management
