SYNOPSIS
Post pandemic world has created many tough challenges to construction industry. Acute labour shortage, rising material cost and higher compliance cost have created a perfect storm that threaten the very own survival of the industry. The only way out is through the use of construction technology. SMART IBS is the future of construction and it will not save the construction industry but also elevate it to be on par with more developed countries.
BIODATA OF SPEAKER
Ir. Chan Huan Ong has more than 20 years of experience in construction industry, spanning from digital construction, SMART IBS, foundation design to coastal protection. Currently, he is heading IJM IBS, a SMART IBS business unit within IJM Group. He has vast experience in design as well international business ventures across Myanmar, Indonesia Singapore & Thailand. Ir. Chan graduated from Monash University in 1999, He is currently serving as committee member on CIDB Productivity Measurement of Building Construction Projects and IBS Component Management Group.
