SYNOPSIS

The implementation of digital workflows is a fast-growing area of civil and structural design. They allow complex engineering workflow to be easily manipulated and automated, driving efficient engineering solutions and managing change at a rapid pace.

One of the examples are using visual programming tools and parametric engines such as Grasshopper for Rhinoceros 3D in engineering design. Communication could be further streamline by adopting a single source of truth working platform using BIM technology.

This webinar will discuss the principles of digital design tools, the benefits of using digital and BIM in civil & structural design and model-for-fabrication. This webinar will also present case studies where digitally enabled workflows are driving a valuable “step-change” in project delivery.


BIODATA OF SPEAKER

SPEAKER 1 : Ir. WONG SIK KWANG

Ir. Wong Sik Kwang is a Principal with wide expertise in civil and structural engineering based in Arup Malaysia, Penang office. He has undertaken various projects including high-rise and low-rise residential and commercial buildings with deep basements, convention centres, hotels, medical services, industrial plants as well as world landmark cathedral and civil underground works. He is passionate about adding values to projects with client satisfaction by providing intelligent and innovative engineering solutions via his vast technical knowledge.

As the Malaysia Digital Lead as well as the SEA Executive Digital Pillar Leader, he envisions the embedment of automation and digital initiatives into projects will create more value to our members, clients and businesses for shaping a better world.


SPEAKER 2 : Mr. RAYMOND CHOW

Mr. Raymond Chow is a senior engineer and BIM Manager based in Arup Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur office. He is tasked and successfully implementing digital and BIM workflow in local and international projects since year 2017.

His interest lies in adding values to his projects using the latest and reliable digital and BIM technology.


SPEAKER 3:  Mr. HONG MING

Mr. Hong Ming is a structural engineer based in Arup Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur office with 7 years of structural design experience. He has worked internationally covering projects in Malaysia, UK, Hong Kong and China with strong knowledge on digital workflows and tool development in which he has successfully implemented in his projects.

His interest lie in creating value for his clients and projects by leveraging on digital technology and data analytics.
