SYNOPSIS

ANSI/TIA-942 (a.k.a. TIA-942) is the world’s most complete standard on data centre design and build. The standard describes more than just power and cooling, it addresses all nine critical areas for a robust data centre which are site location, architecture, electrical, mechanical, telecommunication, physical security, safety, fire detection/suppression and facilities monitoring. The TIA-942 conformity audit benchmarks a data centre from Rated 1 to Rated 4, where Rated-4 is the highest level (fault tolerant). The audit helps to verify that the critical infrastructure is aligned to the business requirements.

BIODATA OF SPEAKER

Mr Hon has over 20 years of extensive experience in management and operations of building facilities with the last 10+ years in mission critical commercial data centres. Mr. Hon holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) from University Putra Malaysia (UPM), Malaysia in 2000. He has worked in various management roles in the critical facilities of high-profile commercial data centres in a variety of countries such as Saudi Arabia, Myanmar and Malaysia.

Hon has conducted numerous data centre audits across Asia on a wide range of data centres from local to international; on-premise enterprise data centers to commercial providers and hyperscalers.

Hon is also an EPI Certified Instructor and has trained hundreds of data centre professionals. Hon holds certifications on data center designs/build, operations/governance and standards/compliance. His certifications include CDCP, CDCS, CDFOS, CDFOM, CTDC and CTIA.
