SYNOPSIS

The hype is over, it's time for 5G to put the pedal to the metal. 5G has promised to deliver the best mobile technology ever, stretching to serve not only consumers but also vertical industries. Beyond just speed improvements, 5G is expected to unleash a massive IoT ecosystem where networks can serve communication needs for billions of connected devices. Apart from that, this new technology is expected to enable innovative services, such as VR/AR, autonomous driving etc. Huge opportunities of 5G are yet to be explored. Will 5G be able to live up to the expectations? But nothing comes easy, rolling out 5G still faces challenges and addressing them quickly is vital. In this talk, we will cover 5G technology global updates before we dive into 5G opportunities and challenges. We will be discussing some real scenarios on how 5G can be the best fit for existing and new problems.

Finally, we will also dive into some practical questions in terms of the challenges that Operators and Vendors are facing in embracing 5G.


BIODATA OF SPEAKER

Mr. Mohan Albert

Mohan Albert is a technology enthusiast who has over 13 years of experience in telecommunication industry. He holds a Master’s Degree from Multimedia University in engineering science and has published several research papers in wellknown journals such as IEEE. He also completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications from Multimedia University. Currently he is working in the CTO Group of ZTE. He has solid end to end knowledge covering RAN, core network as well as transmission. He has very insightful views on standardisations, business cases, trends of future technologies such as 5G, IoT, Big Data etc.
