SPEAKER 1 - Mr. Md Fauzan Kamal Bin Mohd Yapandi
Title: Greenhouse Gas and Impact of Climate Change
Synopsis: Climate change due to ‘enhanced greenhouse effect’, arising as a result of human activities is considered a major global environmental threat to mankind. A review of the topic including the fundamental, cause and effect will be given.
Biodata Speaker: Mr. Md Fauzan Kamal Mohd Yapandi is a Technical Expert in Built Environment and Climate Change Unit, TNB Research Sdn Bhd. He graduated with a Master of Science in Environmental Engineering and Bachelor in Engineering (Robotic & Automation) from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) 1999 and 2003 and Diploma in Civil Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) 1995. He is also a Certified Carbon Reduction Manager (CRM) from the Association of Energy Engineers, USA. He has led various research projects related to Environmental Engineering issues such as Water and Air Pollution, Carbon Footprint and GHG Monitoring, Waste Management, Site Selection of Thermal and Nuclear Power Plants, Optimization of Intake and Outfall Location, Vegetation Management and EIA studies for the development of power plant.
SPEAKER 2 - Mrs. Radin Diana R. Ahmad
Title: Carbon Footprint Assessment
Synopsis: Nowadays, climate-related emissions that are caused by a company’s business operations are becoming an important indicator in communications and risk management. This talk will deliver the methodology, approaches, references on company carbon footprint. We will discuss related data management and database needed. She obtained her Bachelor of Environmental Science degree and Master of Science in Environmental Planning and Management from Universiti Putra Malaysia. Her main research areas of interest are in Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Inventories, Climate Change Impact Assessment and Air Pollution.
Biodata Speaker: Mrs. Radin Diana is also a certified GHG Emissions Management, Carbon Reduction Manager, Association of Energy Engineers, from USA and Subject Matter Expert on SF6: EC No. 305/2008 - SF6 Gas Management and Handling, from DILO Germany. She is also a Technical Working Group (TWG) member for the UNFCCC, National Communication report.
SPEAKER 3 - Mrs. Sazalina Zakaria
Title: Reducing Carbon Footprint
Synopsis: The continued accumulation of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere is expected to severely impact the earth's natural resources. Mitigation studies indicate that energy efficiency and renewable energy are options to reduce emissions. To fully understand examples of mitigation plans, lets first understand how the various methods and approach of mitigation assessment.
Biodata Speaker: Mrs. Sazalina Zakaria, graduated from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia with a Bachelor of Environmental Science and Masters in Engineering majoring in Safety, Health and Environment from University of Malaya. She is a Certified Training Professional (Institute of Professional Managers and Administrators, United Kingdom). She joined TNBR in 2016 as a researcher in Built Environment and Climate Change Unit. Her current research interest includes greenhouse gas emission assessment, development of GHG emissions factor and climate change impact assessment for power sector.
