SYNOPSIS

Managing Sustainable Engineering Development is the integration of social, environmental, and economic considerations in the design of products, processes, and engineered systems. This talk introduces the concept of sustainability – both theory and applications – to engineers and designers. The audience will be exposed to some tools to perform environmental impact assessment, life-cycle cost and benefits analyses, which provide decision guidance on the design, maintenance, and operations of products and systems. At the end of the talk, participants will be able to get some idea on grand societal challenges in energy and environment, the role of technology, economics and policy in addressing these challenges and evaluate the environmental impact of products, processes, services and systems. Beside develop and apply life cycle and systems thinking methods to design a sustainable engineering program during-COVID-19.



BIODATA OF SPEAKER

Ir. Noor Iziddin Abdullah Bin Haji Ghazali is now the Head, New Energy for port development managing electricity, fuel and water in terms of supply and demand from energy conservation to energy-efficient and renewable energy perspective. With almost seventeen years of a leadership role for the following industries such as semiconductor, property, data centre & telecom. Experience also as Industry Advisory Panel and Adjunct Professor at seven universities. Initially in a semiconductor with Spansion then MIMOS. Subsequently to data centre development at Cyberjaya during last decade. Then attach to Mesiniaga as Project Manager for Cisco network implementations at Petronas. Next with Putrajaya Holdings for development of green building projects. Then as Electrical Manager at Sunway Property overseeing the M&E projects. Later with edotco (Axiata) as the Regional Head overseeing energy-efficient projects at multiple South Asia & ASEAN countries. Previously as the Dean, Engineering Faculty at UNIMY before joining Medivest leading sustainability energy program at 22 government hospitals in three states.
