Course OverviewThis course is industry designed, to provide a broad understanding of the design methodology, concepts, and processes involved. The methodology is presented with examples drawn from service, case studies and applications. With a heavy practice orientation, much of your time will be spent working through interactive practical exercises and assessments. Course ObjectivesThe primary objectives of the course are to:-• guide the graduate engineers to acquire the fundamental fire engineering design knowledge in buildings• prepare graduate mechanical engineers from industry, who do not have sufficient or any design experience to appear for the PI;• act as a refresher course for current Professional Engineers, who intend to upgrade their existing design skills.Learning OutcomesOn successful completion of this course, the engineer will be:-• able to design the Fire Protection Systems for a typical 10-storey commercial building;• familiar with all relevant Codes and Standards required by the local authorities• thorough with the entire design process and protocols of fire protection systemInformation on RegistrationRegistration fees covers one set of course notes, refreshments and lunch. Reservation/Booking by fax or email of intending participants are acceptable with partial payment being forwarded before the closing date. If a place is reserved and the intended participants failed to attend the course on the date of the event the fee is to be settled in full.The fee paid is non refundable. However substitution of participants(s) will be permitted with approval by IEM. In view of the limited places available, intending participants are advised to send their registration as early as possible so as to avoid disappointment.The Special Committee reserves the right to alter or change the programme due to unforeseen circumstances.
