SYNOPSIS
This program will focus on the essential steps for handling and managing scheduled wastes generated in workplaces and public areas. The training covers crucial components, including the segregation of waste, handling, collection, labelling, packaging, storage, treatment, and disposal. Attendees will not only learn to recognize the various risks and hazards associated with handling hazardous and contagious waste and take necessary precautions but also understand how to comply with the laws and regulations related to hazardous wastes and action to be taken during emergency situations and spillages
SPEAKER’S PROFILE
ChM Dr, Shanmuga Suntharam Kittappa Senior sustainability and ESG leader with extensive experience in greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting, climate strategy, circular economy innovation, and environmental technology development. Currently Head of Research & Sustainability at Cenviro Sdn Bhd, leading enterprise-wide ESG transformation, carbon management systems, and decarbonization initiatives aligned with global sustainability frameworks. Expertise spans ESG reporting (GRI, IFRS S2, TCFD-aligned disclosures), GHG Protocol implementation, ISO standards (14001, 14064, 17025), and development of low-carbon technologies including waste valorisation and resource recovery systems. Proven ability to translate scientific research into scalable industrial solutions supporting net-zero transition and corporate sustainability strategy.
Recognized researcher and practitioner with international academic collaborations (Japan, China, Europe) and strong integration of science, policy, and industry applications.
