Ts Mohammad Zaharudin Bin Ahmad Darus

Ts Mohammad Zaharudin is the Head of the Cyber Risk Intelligence Department at CyberSecurity Malaysia. He holds a bachelor’s degree in software engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia and is certified in EnCE, CBP, CEH, and C|CISO. He is also recognized as a Cybersecurity Technologist by the Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT). He began his career as a web programmer and later worked as a Research Officer at Telekom R&D, where he specialized in biometrics, AI, and image/video processing. There, he developed biometric-based systems such as signature, facial, and voice recognition. In 2010, he transitioned into cybersecurity as a Forensic Analyst, handling numerous CCTV related cases and serving over 20 times as an expert witness in the High Court. He previously led the Forensic Innovation Unit and now oversees cyber threat intelligence, including monitoring the dark web, analyzing attack surfaces, and managing cyber defense platforms to strengthen national cybersecurity resilience.
