SYNOPSIS   

This talk will explore the dual-domain application of Artificial Intelligence across two critical sectors. In the first half, I will analyze the transformative impact of AI on the education system, focusing on strategies for equipping both educators and students to thrive in the emerging AI era. The second half will pivot to the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS). I will dive into the practical implementation of AI, specifically looking at its role in enabling and securing autonomous vehicle technologies and optimizing urban mobility within the Malaysian context.


BIODATA OF SPEAKER

Ir. Prof. Dr. Chang Yoong Choon

Ir. Prof. Dr. Chang Yoong Choon is a Professor and Head of the Department of Electrical & Electronic Engineering at Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), and Director of the XDU-UTAR Institute of Science, Technology and Innovation. A Professional Engineer, Prof. Chang specializes in the Applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and advanced signal processing.

His expertise directly spans both domains of this talk: he has extensive research in Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks (VANET) and using Deep Learning for smart transportation and Internet of Vehicles (IoV). Prof. Chang is also actively involved in technical training and advocacy for AI integration in the education system and digital transformation, making him uniquely qualified to address the engineering implications of AI across these critical Malaysian sectors.
