SYNOPSIS   

This seminar is intended to give aspiring road engineers an overview of the complete Road Safety Audit (RSA) process. As such, the seminar will encompass all stages of the Road Safety Audit namely:-

a)    Stage-1 : Feasibility and Planning Stage
b)    Stage-2 : Preliminary Design Stage
c)    Stage-3 : Detailed Design Stage
d)    Stage-4 Part 1 : TMP & Verification
e)    Stage-4 Part 2 : During Construction Stage
f)    Stage-4 Part 3 : Pre-Opening Stage
g)    Stage-5 : Operational Stage

The speaker will deliberate on the stages of Road Safety Audit and when will these stages of Road Safety Audit will be executed. The session will also discuss the information that needs to be furnished at each and every stage of Road Safety Audit and more importantly, what are the design elements that are the main focus at each and every stage of the Road Safety Audit.


BIODATA OF SPEAKER

Ir. Chai Ming Jing has been involved in numerous Road Safety Audit works for Malaysian roads and highways, ensuring a safer environment for road users since he was accredited as a Road Safety Auditor back in 2013. He was the lead Road Safety Auditor for Projek Jalan Kening ke Seberang Temerloh (Fasa 2), Bera, Pahang, CSR Package 6, Pan Borneo Highway Sabah (WP1 to WP4), North Corridor Highway, Kuala Lumpur – Karak Highway, East Coast Expressway Phase 1, Kuching Urban Transportation System (KUTS) Phase 1, East Coast Rail Project, Johor Bahru – Singapore  Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link and many other road side development projects.

Ir. Chai graduated with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in 1990 and a Master of Transportation Planning from Universiti Teknologi Malaysian in 1999. He is currently a Director of Pakatan Jurutera Pintar Sdn. Bhd. He is a Professional Engineer with Practising Certificate registered with Board of Engineers, Malaysia, Member of the Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (MIEM), Member of the Chartered Institution of Highways & Transportation (MIHT) and Member of Road Engineering Association of Malaysia (MREAM). In total, Ir. Chai has accumulated 35 years of experience in civil engineering works with majority of his experiences focusing on roads, highways and transportation works.
