SYNOPSIS
MRANTI is Malaysia’s national central agency for research-to-commercialisation acceleration, under the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI). It plays a pivotal role in transforming high-impact technologies into market-ready solutions. One of its flagship innovation testbeds, AVXL, is a first-of-its-kind infrastructure dedicated to the safe and structured development of autonomous vehicle technologies in Malaysia.
AVXL offers a comprehensive real-world test environment, featuring: • A 12-kilometre live urban route simulating real traffic and road conditions; • An enclosed multi-storey car park for sensor calibration and confined-space testing; • 5G network integration to support Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) communications; • A command-and-control centre for centralized testing and vehicle data telemetry; • A digital twin simulation lab enabling virtual validation and AI-driven scenario testing.
This visit presents a unique opportunity for IEM members to directly explore and engage with one of Malaysia’s most advanced mobility testbeds. The AVXL platform is not only critical to Malaysia’s national AV-as-a-Service (AVaaS) development framework, but also supports broader efforts in smart mobility, urban innovation, and automated systems validation.
