SYNOPSIS
As global industries accelerate their decarbonization efforts, the development of digital tools and robust databases for carbon management has become essential. This workshop will explore the architecture, implementation, and innovation behind digital carbon management platforms, with a focus on life cycle assessment (LCA) technologies. Drawing from real-world projects and industry applications, Johnson Gui will share insights into constructing scalable LCA data systems, integrating international standards, and leveraging AI to enhance data accessibility and decision-making. The session will also address challenges and best practices in building national and regional carbon management service platforms, highlighting their role in supporting industry-wide carbon footprint evaluation and low-carbon transitions.
BIODATA OF SPEAKER
Johnson Gui is the Co-founder of E-C Digital and HiQLCD, where he leverages artificial intelligence to make sustainability data and expertise universally accessible. As the Chief Architect of the JimuLCA platform and Head of Product at HiQLCD(China LCA database).
With deep expertise in LCA methodologies, Johnson is actively involved in the development of international LCA standards, industry applications, and data system frameworks. He serves as an expert reviewer for the EU ECO Platform and EPD Italy, and is a member of the United Nations Industrial Deep Decarbonization Initiative (IDDI) expert group, contributing to the global LCA data ecosystem and promoting the internationalization of LCA in carbon management.
Johnson has extensive experience in conducting LCA evaluations across sectors such as steel, batteries, and lubricants. He has led LCA projects for major companies including Baosteel and ArcelorMittal, providing technical consulting and data support. Additionally, he has contributed to the development of national standards such as the Technical Specification for LCA of Steel Products, helping to standardize and advance LCA practices across industries.
