BIODATA OF SPEAKERS
1) Ir. Ts. Wong Chee Fui
Ir. Ts. Wong Chee Fui is a Specialist at Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR). He holds a MSc degree in Highway and Transport Engineering and a B.Eng. Degree in Civil Engineering, both from Universiti Putra Malaysia. Ir. Ts. Wong is a Professional Engineer with Practicing Certificate (P.Eng), Professional Technologist (P.Tech); Certified Construction Project Manager (CCPM), Honorary Member of AFEO; Fellow of the Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (FIEM), Fellow of Technological Association Malaysia (FTAM), Fellow of ASEAN Academy of Engineering and Technology (FAAET) and Fellow of the Academy of Engineering and Technology of Developing World Ir. Ts. Wong Chee Fui (AETDEW).
Internationally Ir. Ts. Wong is registered as International Professional Engineer (IntPE) , APEC Engineer; ASEAN Engineer and ASEAN Chartered Professional Engineer (ACPE).
Ir. Ts. Wong has been involved in the design, project management and implementation of major construction projects both internationally and locally in which he has gained extensive exposure in the construction sector. His experiences include highway infrastructure design, water supply management, water resources and dam constructions, sewerages, landfills and waste management.
2) Ir. Tajul Ariffin Bin Mohamed Nori
Ir. Tajul has extensive experience in Occupational Safety and Health, majoring in workplace accidents post event such as accident investigations, failure analysis and forensic engineering for more than ten years. Currently he is the Head of Analysis and Research with Forensic Engineering Division, DOSH. Ir. Tajul is a registered Professional Engineer (P. Eng) and ASEAN Chartered Professional Engineer (ACPE).
For 15 years, he gained his experience in various workplace accident investigation including the construction industry, demolition works, factories, power plant that involving fatality cases, dangerous occurrence cases, near miss incidents, engineering structures failure, heavy machinery accidents and work related occupational disease. His contribution in various stages of Malaysia Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) law enforcement from OSH law development, law enforcements to safety and health promotions, ensuring the safety and health of the Malaysia’s workforce are safeguarded and upheld.
On the law development and policy setting, Ir. Tajul plays an active role as a technical committee member on risk management regulations, Industrial code of practices as well as guidelines including external committee on Safety and Health Standard Development. He is also a DOSH’s Prosecution officer and also had been called to testify in the court of law as an expert witness for a case involving occupational accident. He was awarded with the Subject Matter Expert (Investigation and Forensic Engineering) by the Special Unit For High Potential and SME (SUPREME) Public Service Department of Malaysia on July 2020.
3) Ir. Gary Lim Eng Hwa
Ir. Gary Lim Eng Hwa has a Bachelor of Engineering (Mech) from the University of Canterbury in 1978. He started working in the manufacturing environment and had over 20 years working experiences in various capacities as Industrial Engineer/Work Study Engineer, Project Engineer, Maintenance Engineer and Factory Management. He then joined the Insurance industry as a Risk Engineer trained to conduct Fire Risk Assessment in all types of manufacturing industries.
Currently he is a committee member with Building Services Technical Division (BSTD) and Secretary/ Treasurer of Safety in Engineering Special Interest Group (SESIG). In 2016, he attended a certification course and awarded as the Approved ISO31000 Lead Trainer from the Global Institute for Risk Management standards G31000.
