SYNOPSIS
This talk, organized by the Mechanical Engineering Technical Division of IEM, focuses on the role of MRO services in advancing the Malaysian Aerospace Blueprint. It aims to provide insights into the current landscape of engineering MRO services in Malaysia, their alignment with global trends and their contribution to national aerospace aspirations. The session will explore industry challenges, talent development and regulatory compliance while highlighting opportunities for growth and innovation. Targeted at students, trainees, educators and early-career professionals, the talk encourages knowledge sharing, career exploration and collaboration to support Malaysia’s vision as a leading regional hub for aerospace services.
SPEAKER'S BIODATA
Eke Nazri Rahim - Chief Operating Officer, MAB Engineering Services
Mr. Eke was appointed Chief Operating Officer of MAB Engineering Services in June 2022. Prior to this role, he served as Head of Airlines Engineering at Malaysia Airlines beginning in October 2017. With over 30 years of experience in the aviation engineering sector, Mr. Eke has consistently demonstrated a strong ability to drive operational efficiency, implement cost-saving initiatives, strengthen compliance frameworks, and elevate quality standards across the organizations he has served. Complementing his technical expertise, he has completed various professional development programs focused on leadership, airline operations, and business management.
He holds a Master of Business Administration and is licensed as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer by both the Malaysian Civil Aviation Authority and the UK Civil Aviation Authority. Since May 2018, Mr. Eke has served on the Board of Directors of Pan Pacific Aviation Service Ltd (PAPAS) in Hong Kong. He has also been an active member of the Technical Committee for the Association of Asia Pacific Airlines since 2019 and contributes to the Technical Group Committee of the oneworld Alliance’s Engineering & Maintenance Best Practices Group, where he collaborates with industry peers to advance best practices and address key technical issues.
