SYNOPSIS
This technical talk explores the use of geosynthetics in modern road construction, focusing on subgrade stabilisation, pavement optimisation, and asphalt interlayers. Participants will gain insights into how geosynthetics improve weak ground conditions, reduce pavement thickness, and extend road lifespan by mitigating reflective cracking. Case studies and practical applications will be shared to highlight performance and cost benefits, making this session valuable for engineers involved in road design, construction, and rehabilitation.
BIODATA OF SPEAKER
Ir. Lau Joe Jiunn Ir. Lau received his Bachelor of Engineering with Honors BEng (Hons) First Class Honors from the University of Putra Malaysia.
