SYNOPSIS
The Occupational Safety and Health (Special Scheme of Inspection) Regulations 2025, introduced by the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) Malaysia, mark a significant shift in how industrial safety is regulated for designated plants. This talk aims to provide an overview of the new SSI Regulations 2025, focusing on the transition from time-based to risk-based inspection methodologies for the issuance of certificates of fitness. Participants will explore the key elements of the SSI, including inspection classifications (Class A & B), the roles and responsibilities of occupiers, and the criteria for operating under the special inspection scheme. The session will highlight how these regulations enhance workplace safety while offering greater flexibility and accountability to plant owners and operators. Designed for professionals involved in the operation and maintenance of designated plants—such as boilers, pressure vessels, and hazardous systems—this program offers critical insights into complying with the latest legal and operational requirements under the SSI framework.
