SYNOPSIS
While Malaysia may face a massive shortage of engineers, the number of students interested in STEM fields and enrolling in engineering degrees continues to decline. How can we inspire more young people to become engineers? Generation Alpha (2 to15 years old) is different. They believe in personalisation, sustainability, social justice and innovation. Hence, purpose-led and impact-driven learning (PLIDL) is well-positioned to inspire this Generation to become purposeful engineers. PLIDL is an educational approach that empowers learners to develop their life purpose and become capable and committed to tackling the complex challenges faced by humanity, making a positive impact on the world.
