SYNOPSIS
The development of renewable energy in Malaysia is supported by Sustainable Energy Development Authority. There are different sources of renewable energy in Malaysia, among them from solar, small hydro, biogas and biomass. These powerplants supply renewable energy to the national grid. The different types of power plants come with different risks and technical challenges from development stage, construction stage to owning and operating the plant for the lifetime of the Power Purchase Agreement.
