SYNOPSIS
This technical visit offers members of the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM) an opportunity to explore the manufacturing process of pretensioned high-strength spun concrete piles at the ICP Klang factory. Participants will gain insight into advanced foundation solutions and their practical applications in engineering projects.
The facility operates multiple factories and production lines across Peninsular Malaysia, with an annual production capacity of two million tonnes. The spun piles, featuring a circular hollow cross-section, are manufactured in various sizes ranging from 250mm to 1,200mm in diameter and lengths of 6m to 54m in a single piece. For larger requirements, piles can be pre-joined to lengths of up to 90m. These piles are utilised in various regions, including Southeast Asia, the Middle East, USA, Canada and beyond, demonstrating their versatility and reliability in diverse construction environments.
This visit is designed to introduce engineers to the production process of spun piles and the practical applications in construction projects. The focus will be on understanding how spun piles are applied in real-world scenarios, such as their use in foundation work, infrastructure projects, and their ability to perform under challenging conditions.
NOTE
The visit is strictly limited to 30 participants registered on a “firstcome first-served” basis.
