BIODATA OF SPEAKER
Jeremy M. Joseph is the Principal Partner at Joseph and Partners, a top Malaysian shipping law firm. He has been recognized by Legal 500 and Chambers Asia for 15 years as a Band 1 shipping lawyer.
Jeremy received a British Chevening Scholarship in 1996 and completed his Master of Law from the University of Southampton in 1997. He also holds a Diploma in International Commercial Arbitration from the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, UK.
Jeremy started his career as a marine insurance broker and worked as an Associate in Holman Fenwick & Willan Singapore and later in the Malaysian-associated office of Joseph Tan Jude Benny LLP before founding Joseph and Partners in 2010. His firm has won several awards, including"Shipping Law Firm of the Year" from 2014-2016. In 2018, his firm handled many landmark maritime and insurance cases, including the high-profile arrest and sale of the super yacht Equanimity. He has also contributed to legal publications and presented at conferences worldwide.
