This forum aims to provide exposure on the importance and challenges among Engineering Technologists and Technicians in their career development. ETSC has invited 2 panelist from the aviation and railway industry to join us by sharing their working experience, challenges or solutions. With this forum, it would encourage engineering technologists and technicians to improve their efficiency and motivate technicians to deliver better services. The participation for this event is open to final year students, AML holders, graduates who are currently involved with engineering technologists and technicians as a profession.
Panel Expert 1: Ahmad Zazley Mat Nasir
Ahmed Zazley has been working in the light-rail transit (LRT) industry for 24 years and is currently working as a Quality Assurance Specialist at Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd. Throughout the years, he has been a certified trainer and facilitator from numerous agencies such as HRDF, NLP, NOSS,PEMADAM, AADK and many more. Being an active certified trainer and facilitator for 30 years, his competencies mainly focus on motivation, human behavior therapy, learning & development and mental illness therapy. In addition, he is also active in mind and sports development programs and involved in the Empowerment Program for Football Kids (SUPERICFL) and FAM-Football Associate Malaysia for ICFL. Amongst of his major achievements were involved in Testing and Commissioning new trains 4car and Mid Life Refurbishment Train, received the Gold Awards for International ICC Taipei representing Prasarana RapidKL Malaysia, archive for SPAD Innovative Awards 2013 and developed various modules and facilitated many programs internally over the years. He also has conducted a Training program for MALDIVES Broadcasting in Male City, Maldives.
Panel Expert 2: Ts. Amirudin Ab Ghani
Ts. Amirudin bin Ab Ghani LAME CMILT Managing Director, APR Group of Companies Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer & Aircraft Accident Investigator
Ts. Amirudin bin Ab Ghani is currently the Managing Director of APR Group of Companies, where he holds the position of Managing Director and Accountable Manager for the Approved Training Organisation (ATO), APR-Aviation Training Centre Sdn. Bhd. in Subang, Selangor and the Approved Maintenance Organisation (AMO), APR Aerospace Engineering Sdn. Bhd. based at the Melaka International Airport (MKZ), Batu Berendam, Melaka.
Started his career in the aviation industry as early as 1975, Ts. Amirudin obtained an Aircraft Maintenance License (AML) from the Department of Civil Aviation Malaysia (DCAM) in 1980 to begin embarking on his career as a licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer. His experience in the aviation industry as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer and Aircraft Surveyor later became a stepping stone to venture into the private sector.
Established his own company, Aero Precision Consultants in 1994, Ts. Amirudin later expanded his company’s wings by establishing Aero Precision Resources Sdn. Bhd. in 1997, and subsequently expanded his business activities and incorporated the aircraft maintenance training services division under Aero Precision Resources Sdn. Bhd. into APR-Aviation Training Center Sdn. Bhd. in 2005. The approved training organisation is currently based in Subang Perdana, Shah Alam, Selangor, within the vicinity of the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport (SZB). His passion to advance the Malaysian aviation industry was evident when he established the aircraft repair, maintenance and overhaul (MRO) company, APR Aerospace Engineering Sdn. Bhd. (APR-Ae) in 2010.
With more than 45 years of experience in the Malaysian aviation industry, Ts. Amirudin has served in the government and private sectors in Malaysia. In addition, he has also been appointed as the Chairman of the Aviation Training Organization under the auspices of the National Aviation Consultative Council (NACC), Ministry of Transport Malaysia (MOT) in 2018.
