SYNOPSIS
One of the common ground treatments approaches is using preload surcharge with vertical drain. In the olden days, sand drain has been used as vertical drain to pair with preload surcharge. However, with the advancement of technologies, prefabricated vertical drain (PVD) has been introduced and widely used in today’s applications. PVD is a type of plastic strips wick drain wrapped with geotextile filter. This technical visit aims at enabling a better understanding of the production process of PVD in great details and up close.
NOTE
- Transport : Coach will be provided.
Participants are to assemble at 8.00 a.m. at Bangunan Ingenieur, Petaling Jaya.
The coach will depart IEM at 8.10 a.m. sharp.
- All participants must prepare their own PPE (safety helmet + safety vest + safety shoe) with valid CIDB green card.
- The visit is strictly limited to 20 participants registered on a first-come-first-serve basis.
