SYNOPSIS

A study was conducted to investigate the acceptance of drone technology in the operation and maintenance of water treatment plants. Although the use of drones is widely practiced in many industries such as construction, site surveys, plant equipment inspections and more, there is no comprehensive study on the acceptance of this drone technology. The study focused on the readiness of operators and willingness of management to invest in this technology for drones to carry out work in narrow and confined spaces. The study was conducted through survey and the information collected was considered as basic information in determining the results of this study. It is hoped that this study will assist the government in supporting technological advances in the development of our country  in this challenging era.


SPEAKER BIODATA

Ir. Ts. Muhammad Aizuddin Mufid is a professional engineer of the Board Of Engineers Malaysia (BEM), a member of the Institution Of Engineers Malaysia (IEM), professional technologist of the Malaysia Board Of Technologist (MBOT) and also a member of Malaysia Water Association (MWA). He has over 10 years of experience in the engineering field, working on various projects such as water treatment facilities, buildings, and infrastructure1. He is also appointed as industrial advisory panel for bachelor of engineering mechanical engineering programme at the faculty of engineering, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS). He is a strong advocate for sustainability and always finds ways to reduce the environmental impact on his projects.
