ABOUT SDG CENTRE
The Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Center Kuala Lumpur located in the Kuala Lumpur Library Building is the first SDG in the Asia Pacific region. Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) in collaboration with Urbanice Malaysia created this SDG which plays an important role as an interactive center to bring together all initiatives and commitments to implement the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Kuala Lumpur. It is recognized by the United Nations Human Settlement Program (UN-Habitat).
SDG Centre KL showcases Kuala Lumpur's commitment to the SDG and its localization and exhibits partnerships, programs and projects to achieve the UN Global Agenda. Kuala Lumpur City Hall’s efforts to localize and implement the Sustainable Development Goals and New Urban Agenda are being consolidated at the Kuala Lumpur SDG Centre. The Kuala Lumpur SDG Centre is an effective platform to share and disseminate information with other stakeholders. This will encourage further collaboration and cooperation with a long-lasting impact. The goal of the SDG Centre is five fold, that is to play the role of a Community Centre, Knowledge Sharing hub, Data Depository, Innovation hub and Partnership Centre.
OBJECTIVE OF THE PROGRAM
By visiting the 1st ever SDG Centre, participants could learn & get more info on how DBKL run the initiatives and commitments to achieve the relevant goals. An opportunity to collaborate between IEM & DBKL in organising a talk or out-reach program also can be considered.
NOTE: The visit is strictly limited to 30 participants registered on a first-come, first-served basis.
