SYNOPSIS
Climate change and energy security are the key drivers for energy transition worldwide. With theglobal squeeze on energy supply due to Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine and the increase indemand for fuel as many countries have just begun their economic recovery after the Covid-19pandemic, it is anticipated that the world will continue to see high energy prices in 2023. As theimpact of burning fossil fuels on our environment and public health as well as rising in energy demandgrow into a global concern, renewable energy plays imperative roles in the transformation. Coupledwith low carbon technologies that are now becoming more efficient and economical, many electricityconsumers worldwide decided to embrace small-scale renewable energy in their facilities throughdemand response to enhance the traditional energy system. This talk will highlight initiatives by aneducational institution in developing solar campus for sustainable environment.
